Endless Summer® calendar

Proven format for amateur racers is optimized and expanded

The winter trackday series “Endless Summer” is entering its fourteenth season and starts this one with the motto “Back to the roots”. Here, everything revolves around amateur racers and trackday pilots, while there is a separate event series for thoroughbred racers. A lot of proven events, but also a new location are on the calendar.

Endless Summer, what it has always been
Since the beginning, Endless Summer has been THE trackday series in winter. With an incomparable choice of dates in Spain and Portugal, a top calendar and optimal services for amateur racers, every wish is read from the eyes of the sports driver. Endless Summer Inventor Markus Gedlich: “Endless Summer stands for a good time in the sunny south, while in Central Europe the sky is cloudy. It’s about sporty driving, but also about nice hotels and relaxed evenings together with other racers. In recent years, more and more pure racers have joined in. In order to get the structure of drivers and cars optimally homogeneous, we have decided to run two event series from now on. Endless Summer is reserved for the amateurs, who want one thing above all: Fun driving in their sports car or race car.”

Kickoff in Estoril
“At the request of many customers,” says Gedlich Racing Managing Director Markus Gedlich, “we have placed our kickoff event in Estoril. Optimal accessibility and a top international track are decisive criteria, but also the proximity to Lisbon, one of the most beautiful cities. It’s a great place to extend your racing stay.”
In addition to two days of open pitlane trackdays, there is the 5-star Hotel Intercontinental Estoril at a special price and a joint kickoff dinner for the sports car drivers. One driver and one accompanying person are already included in the participation price.
Immediately afterwards, the drivers will head to the newly built track “Circuito do Sol”, which is only 250 km away and is preparing to become the “Ascari of Portugal”. The 3.8 km long track is not only aiming for FIA approval, but in the long term will also be home to its own hotel, buyable luxury villas and a club.

Mix of FIA race tracks and private venues
“Endless Summer has always thrived on the mix of tracks and the feeling of togetherness that the Endless Summer pilots develop. That’s why we once again have all the top international tracks in the program for 2023/2024, but are also going to lesser-known but no less attractive locations such as Monteblanco or Barcelona Castellolí,” says Robin Selbach of Gedlich Racing. “In any case, we have top hotels at all events and assist with travel planning. It’s always worth bringing family as well.”
The dates are always organized into “raceweeks” so that the inclined sports driver can drive several tracks with just one trip. However, the locations can also be booked individually.

Endless Summer or Race Tests – what’s the difference?
Endless Summer is reserved entirely for amateur drivers. Gedlich: “It’s not so much about the race car, but more about the attitude of the driver. So at Endless Summer, the classic trackday driver drives his Porsche GT3 just as much as an amateur who treats himself to a Cup Porsche. The decisive factor is that everyone drives around the tracks for fun and doesn’t have a knife between their teeth. We want to spend relaxed days with a homogeneous field of gentlemen drivers.”
Those who want to hunt for times and give free rein to their racing ambitions will find themselves at the Gedlich Racing Winter Race Tests. These test-only days, usually offered in the run-up to the “GT Winter Series” racing series, are intended for ambitious racing drivers. Here there is livetiming and racing cars with slick tires from the category GT4 upwards.
This separation makes everyone feel at home: the Endless Summer pilot always finds himself among his peers, while the Race Test driver meets exclusively pure racers with appropriate cars.

Services for trackday riders: transport, accommodation, travel and hotels
To ensure that the Endless Summer experience is as uncomplicated as possible, Gedlich Racing offers exactly the services that the inclined sports driver needs. The organization of Gedlich Racing not only takes care of the transport of the best piece to Spain and Portugal, but also the accommodation of the car. Tires, brakes, mechanical service – everything is organized by Gedlich Racing.
But the driver’s journey is also taken care of. The organizer has hotel tips and allotments ready at all locations and knows authentic locations for the driver’s dinner. Racing during the day, a good time in the evening – this has been the motto since 2010, when Endless Summer was launched.
